For nearly three decades, the Arab NGO Network for Development (ANND) has stood alongside civil society actors across the region, contributing to the production of rights-based knowledge and strengthening the collective power necessary to advance economic and social justice, democratic governance, and civic space.
The ANND Digital Learning Platform continues this commitment by providing a free and flexible learning space designed for activists, organizers, researchers, and changemakers who lead this work daily throughout the Arab region.
This is not merely a traditional e-learning library. Each learning pathway on this platform is rooted in the reality of the Arab region, grounded in the same rights-based approach that guides ANND’s advocacy efforts, and designed to transform knowledge into concrete action at the community level and beyond.
Why Was This Platform Created?
Civil society in the Arab region faces immense challenges, including the shrinking of civic space, entrenched economic inequalities, the escalating impacts of climate change, and the ongoing struggle for democratic governance and cultural rights.
Commitment and determination alone are not sufficient to address these challenges; they require solid knowledge, practical skills, and a community of peers for learning and exchanging experiences. Therefore, ANND created this platform to ensure that all civil society actors have access to this knowledge, wherever they are and regardless of the resources available to their organizations.
How Does the Platform Work?
All courses available on the platform are completely free and can be studied at the learner’s own pace, accommodating individuals who balance advocacy work, community organizing, and daily life commitments.
The courses rely on interactive content, case studies from the region, and practical tools, rather than general lectures that deliver uniform content to everyone. Learners who meet the course requirements receive a certificate recognizing the skills they have acquired and their commitment to creating change.
The platform is available in Arabic, English, and French to ensure accessibility throughout the region.
Who Is This Platform Designed For?
This platform is for you if you are a young person seeking to make your voice heard, work within a civil society organization aiming to develop your team’s capacities, are a community activist working to organize your community, or a researcher seeking to deepen your expertise, wherever you are in the Arab region.
